A Conversation on the future of abortion access in the United States and its implications for the Jewish Community

When

December 20, 2021
7:00 pm

With Lorie Chaiten of the ACLU & Rabbi Michael Siegel of Anshe Emet Synagogue…

Our country is presently engaged in a serious conversation about access to abortion. A number of States, Texas most notably, are challenging the status quo in regards to women’s reproductive rights.  The US Supreme Court is currently hearing arguments that may overturn  Roe v. Wade.  What impact will these changes have on individuals and our society as a whole?  In addition, we should also ask what our tradition has to say about this issue, and how Jewish law might be effected  by the proposed changes in abortion law.  We are fortunate that  Lorie Chaiten is a member of our community.  She currently serves as Senior Staff Attorney for the ACLU Reproductive Freedom Project  and Lorie is  one of the most important legal voices in our country. Lorie is presently on the legal team arguing the case in Texas. Join us as Lorie and Rabbi Siegel engage in an important and timely discussion on one of the most relevant issues of our time.

This is a virtual event.
