We are thrilled to welcome Rabbi Rachel Isaacs as our guest speaker. She will speak on the following topic: The Blessings of Bringing Small Town Jewish Communities Along.
Rabbi Isaacs was named one of “American’s Most Inspiring Rabbis” by The Forward in 2014, and she offered the final Hanukkah benediction of the Obama administration in 2016. Additionally, Rabbi Isaacs made history as the first openly lesbian rabbi admitted to and ordained by the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she studied as a Wexner Graduate Fellow.
Rabbi Isaacs is the spiritual leader of Beth Israel Congregation in Waterville, Maine. She is the Executive Director of the Center for Small Town Jewish Life, which has promoted transformative growth in Jewish small town communities. It is more important now than ever to understand the lives, challenges, and strengths of all walks of American life, and we are thrilled to hear Rabbi Isaacs’ perspective on small town Jewish America.
