What is Reverse Tashlich?
Reverse Tashlich is a meaningful way to put Jewish values into action through environmental stewardship. Traditionally, on Rosh Hashanah, we gather by a body of water to symbolically cast away our sins, entering the New Year with renewed hearts. Reverse Tashlich transforms that symbolism into action by removing humanity’s “sins” from our waterways.
Together, we’ll help clean our local shoreline by removing plastic, litter, and other debris that threaten marine ecosystems and the health of our planet. It’s a hands-on opportunity to care for creation, strengthen our community, and begin the New Year with purpose.
The Anshe Emet Dayenu Circle is part of Dayenu, a Jewish nonprofit dedicated to building a multi-generational movement that confronts the climate crisis through Jewish values, spiritual courage, and collective action. Together, Dayenu works toward a just, livable, and sustainable world for all.
