Yom HaShoah - Yellow Candle Commemoration

Yom HaShoah 5777

Join us on the evening of Yom HaShoah as we honor the memories of those who perished in the Holocaust. A memorial candle lighting will be followed by Hazzan Mizrahi singing a special Ladino song honoring the Holocaust victims of Greece.

The Yad Vashem film graciously provided by the Simon Weisenthal Center, May Your Memory Be Love, will be shown. It portrays the experience of Ovadia Baruch, a Jew born in Salonika, Greece, who tells his own story of survival and offers a glimpse
into the often overlooked Holocaust of the Greek Jewish community.

In commemoration of Yom HaShoah, the Anshe Emet Men’s Club is selling memorial candles through the FJMC Yellow Candle Program. Profits from the sale of the candles are used to support future Yom HaShoah programming at Anshe Emet. Yellow candles may be purchased for $5 each online or at the event where they will be distributed.
