Shireinu

Shireinu is Anshe Emet's volunteer choir.

This outstanding choir sings at Anshe Emet Services and concerts throughout Chicagoland. Widely regarded as a premier Jewish Choir, Shireinu has performed at Daley Plaza and numerous other venues.

Chrisite Chiles-Twillie leads Shireinu and is a Chicago based Music Director who is thrilled to be working with Shireinu. She is a professional pianist, teacher, vocal coach, sound designer and composer. Her Bachelor and Masters degree studies were in Piano Performance at West Virginia University from which she also earned a minor in dance. She was a professional classical pianist before falling in love with the musical theatre world. For over 20 years, Christie trained students and teachers in the art of Piano Pedagogy. It is through her vast background as a musician and dancer that she has found her niche in other musical related genres such as composition and sound design. She greatly enjoys working through a score, play or film to develop an iconic sound for audiences to remember. Christie has music directed and conducted the orchestras for over 35 musical theatre productions in the Chicago area. In 2017 she earned ‘Best Musical Direction’ nominations for her original score for ‘Yellowman,’ and Big Noise Theatre’s production of ‘Big Fish: The Musical.’  She is the owner of the production company, Music for Theatre CHICAGO, the president of Chicago Area Music Teachers Association (2016-2020) and the a member of the Chicago Federation of Musicians.

Shireinu participates in High Holiday services, Anshe Emet Live, and may be heard performing at life-cycle events and throughout the greater community.  Rehearsal is for one hour on Thursday evenings. Christie and the choir are working hard to grow Shireinu. If interested just send a note to Christie Chiles Twillie [email protected].
