Men's Club

The Award-Winning Men’s Club at Anshe Emet Synagogue provides adult male members of the synagogue with a vehicle to meet and socialize with other adult male members!

Our main objective is to have fun together as Jewish men, while also actively contributing to synagogue and community programs. Examples of our social and educational programming include:

  • Beer tasting
  • White Sox & Cubs games
  • Concerts in Millennium Park
  • Team building
  • Passover Wine Tasting
  • Shabbat Services led by Men's Club members

Men's Club Steak & Shots in the Sukkah Reults

Not only was our STEAK AND SHOTS event on September 26 a huge success with 91 registered attendees, but it also was a great fundraising achievement.  MEN’S CLUB donated $650.00 to each of the 2 charities selected by our 4 honorees—the CHICAGO POLICE  MEMORIAL FOUNDATION and the ANSHE EMET SYNAGOGUE CONFIDENTIAL FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE FUND—for a total donation of $1,300.00.

Thanks again to Bob Balesh, Ron Tanaka, Fred McAllen, and Jesse Leader for their dedicated service to our congregation and for participating to make this event so successful.  If you have not seen it yet, please read the letter of congratulations from Mayor Emanuel that now is being prominently displayed on the wall just to the right of the security desk.

You can view all of our photos of this event on our ANSHE EMET MEN’S CLUB FACEBOOK PAGE!

Brian Portnoy and "The Geometry of Wealth"

Brian Portnoy, PhD, Chartered Financial Analyst, author, and congregant discussed his latest book, “The Geometry of Wealth – How to shape a life of money and meaning,” on December 4.  Brian presented his views on making better decisions about how money contributes to building a joyful life and of distinguishing being rich and being wealthy.  Many of our attendees took advantage of Brian’s offering of signed copies of his book at a very discounted price.
