SUMMARY:What Do We Mean by a 'Big Tent'? with Yehuda Kurtzer
DESCRIPTION:How might we build a communal&nbsp\;conversation around Israel
that&nbsp\;tolerates widely disparate views?\nThe American Jewish communit
y has long used the metaphor of a&nbsp\;"big tent" to describe the vision
that it tolerates a broad spectrum of&nbsp\;viewpoints on Israel. While th
is feels inclusive\, it often designates some&nbsp\;views as outside the r
ange of acceptable communal discourse.&nbsp\;Yehuda Kurtzer will explore t
he challenges and opportunities of&nbsp\;ideological pluralism and how we
might foster an ethic of inclusion in&nbsp\;the Chicago Jewish community.\
n\nPublic lecture followed by panel conversation with Yehuda Kurtzer&nbsp\
;and Rabbis Michael Siegel\, Shoshanah Conover\, and David&nbsp\;Wolkenfel
d\, moderated by Jason Rosensweig.\nRegister here\n\n\n\nPresented in part
nership with Anshe Emet Synagogue\, Temple Sholom of Chicago\, and&nbsp\;A
nshe Sholom B'nai Israel Congregation.&nbsp\;\n\nIf you have any questions
