SUMMARY:Journey to Mitzvot
DESCRIPTION:Select Sundays Throughout the Winter\nJ2M – or Journey to Mit
 zvot – is a program that prepares our sixth graders and their parents fo
 r their Bar/Bat Mitzvah celebration in the following year.\nThe central go
 al of J2M is to develop and deepen our students’ understanding of what i
 t means to become a Bar/Bat Mitzvah: a Jewish adult. The pillars of our pr
 ogram are based on a teaching of our ancestors\; that our world rests on t
 hree things: Torah\, Avodah (Prayer)\, and Gemilut Hasadim (Acts of Loving
 -kindness).\n\nWe gather on 5 Sunday mornings and one Friday night through
 out the winter months at 9:15AM to explore themes of Torah study\, prayer\
 , volunteerism and community involvement. We also spend a lot of time int
 roducing families to one another\, so that we all get to know more people 
 in our community.\n\nThis year's sessions include:\n\nSunday\, November 6\
 , 13\nDecember 4\nJanuary 1\, evening session on January 27\nand February
