Join Chicago poet, Bernard Zell teacher, and Anshe Emet member, Jamie Wendt, as she reads from her new collection of poems, Laughing in Yiddish, which revolves around shtetl life in the Pale of Settlement and migration to Chicago. After reading some poems, Wendt will lead a discussion on poetry by contemporary Jewish women poets. Participants will be given writing prompts based on these poems in order to begin drafting some pieces inspired by other Jewish women writers. No writing experience necessary.
Books will be available to be signed and sold after the event.
