We are imagining songs like Maoz Tzur as a slow jam\, giving I Have A Little Dreidle a much neede d bepop hop and penning one or two original pieces.In this vein\, we recor ded 10 songs looking to upgrade and update the beloved canon of holiday so ngs: Some in English\, some Hebrew and some instrumental. We gave each a d ifferent flavor and look forward to sharing with the wider world our uniqu e Jewish sound for this holiday of lights. \;Elana Rozenfeld is a cant or\, performer\, songwriter and theatre artist\, who grew up steeped in mu sical theatre\, jazz\, chazzanut (traditional cantorial singing) and Yeshi va music\, while also having a secret love of all things Sephardic. After receiving her BFA at the Tisch School of the Arts in NYU\, focusing on sol o performance\, she entered the HL Miller Cantorial School at JTS to devel op mastery of her Jewish musical traditions. Since then\, she has served a s cantor at Park Avenue Synagogue in NYC and Congregation Shirat Hayam in Swampscott\, MA. Elana also served as the interim director of the School f or Jewish Music at Hebrew College in Newton\, MA. Today\, Elana lives in K iryat Tivon\, Israel\, with her husband and three children\, teaching cont emporary voice and bone mitzvah\, performing\, and songwriting.
