DESCRIPTION:Join us as we welcome Yehonatan Indursky\, co-creator of the Is
 raeli show\, Shtisel\, and examine\, “Shtisel and the New Haredim”.\n
 \nYehonatan Indursky is an award-winning writer and director\, who has i
 nvited us into a world set in the cobblestone labyrinths of haredi Jerusa
 lem where the haredi protagonists are fully formed and fleshed-out charact
 ers -- deeply\, radically human.\n\nShtisel paints the vibrant inner lives
  of characters who\, to those outside of it\, occupy a world too often shr
 ouded in stereotype\, disinterest and unconcern. Yet Shtisel offers us is 
 a way in and asks us to listen deeper. There is an underlying current of 
 change\, with a new haredi movement emerging and discussion about diversit
 y\, access to equal rights and democratic values in Israel today.\n\nAnshe
  Emet welcomes a discussion of the most popular television series in Israe
 l and its impact on the New Haredim. Introduction by Rabbi Michael Siege
