Rose Crown Minyan
Anshe Emet Synagogue's Rose Crown Minyan, now in its fourteenth year, meets every Shabbat morning at 9:30 a.m. The Minyan is an intimate, traditional service, committed to egalitarian and participatory worship. Run completely by lay people (with the occasional assistance of our clergy), the Minyan offers a more traditional alternative to the main service, with a full P'sukei D'zimrah (introductory Psalms) and a complete Torah reading each week.
The Minyan is attended by people of all ages: singles, couples, families, teens and seniors are all invited to come and participate. The Rose Crown Minyan ends at the same time as the main service, which allows the entire synagogue community to be together for Kiddush.
Although we are not a "learner's minyan," numerous people participate for the first time in reading Torah and Haftorah, leading services and delivering Divrei Torah. We are happy to provide guidance to those who wish to participate but are still developing their synagogue skills.
To learn more about the Rose Crown Minyan or if you are interested in helping lead services or learning how to do so, please contact Rabbi Daniel Cotzin Burg or one of the co-chairs, Elisheva Beller, Gilaad Matar or Lynne Schatz.
