Anshe Emet Men’s Club Presents: Author Kenneth N. Green speaking on I’m From Division Street

Tuesday, April 29
7:00 p.m. at Anshe Emet

Author/Attorney/Boxer Kenneth N. Green will present a program about his book, I’m From Division Street, at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 29 at Anshe Emet Synagogue. Refreshments will be served. Copies of the book will be available for purchase and the author will sign copies sold.

I'm From Division Street is a Rocky-like comeback story of how Ken Green rose from poverty, academic problems, and anti-Semitism growing up in Chicago's Humboldt Park neighborhood to success as a defense attorney, retired Chief of Public Defenders in Los Angeles County, adjunct professor at UCLA, boxer inducted into the California Boxing Hall of Fame, and a reserve police officer. He also served in the U.S. Army while in Korea. His book vividly describes the Humboldt Park neighborhood during the period when he grew up in the 1940's and 1950's and profiles famous and successful Jewish people who had their roots in that same neighborhood.
