Title: HaZaK
Dates: Ongoing - Every Monday
Time: 1:00 p.m. -  2:00 p.m.

HaZaK is a daytime program for mature adults.We offer discussions on a variety of Jewish-related issues facilitated by Rabbi Siegel, Rabbi Cosgrove, Rabbi Burg and Hazzan Mizrahi. Every other session will be a small-group lecture learning session with Elie Berkman focusing on a variety of Jewish topics ranging from the Biblical to the philosophical and including adult learning about Jewish holidays. All events are at Anshe Emet Synagogue

Daytime Classes - Tuesday

Title: Essential Essays

Dates: Ongoing - Every Tuesday Morning
Time: 7:45 a.m. -  8:30 a.m.
Instructor: Rabbi Elliot Cosgrove

Come for our weekly Tuesday discussion group following morning minyan. Each week we read an essay which has shaped Jewish practice, philosophy and theology. Essays for the following week are distributed at the end of each class session. They are also available all week in the Cummings Gallery and online at www.AnsheEmet.org.

Daytime Classes - Thursday

Title: The Lakeview Consortium of the Florence Melton Adult Mini-School
Time: 9:15 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. or
7:15 p.m. – 9:30 p.m.

Each course focuses on at least one thread in a carefully woven fabric integrating Jewish history, religion, ritual, language, ethics, philosophy, literature, theology and contemporary Jewish life. Topics include: purposes of Jewish living, rhythms of Jewish living, dramas of Jewish living, and ethics of Jewish living.

Title: The Torah Portion of the Week
Dates: Ongoing
Time: 8:30 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Instructor: Rabbi Michael Siegel

“ Torah for Dummies!” Please join us for a rollickingly relevantapproach to the weekly Torah portion.We will draw from traditional and modern sources in pursuit of the meaning of the text for our times.We guarantee that “the Torah is the Tree of Life to those who hold fast to it".

Spring Class Dates: March 14, 21, 28, April 4, and 11
Time: 12:00 p.m. – 1:00 p.m.

Location: At Levenfeld & Pearlstein
Topic: A Roll Through the Scrolls

End the year learning with some good old fashioned Bible Study. Prior to Purim we will study Esther, in preparation for Passover, the Song of Songs, and then move onto the Book of Ruth in anticipation of Shavuot. Time permitting, we will conclude with Lamentations and Ecclesiastes. A kosher lunch of pizza and salad will be served. Reservations are required. Call Andi Gutnik at 773-868-5119.

Title: Parshat HaShavuah

Time: 9:00 a.m. – 10:00 a.m.
Instructor: Moish Lenow

Every Shabbat you are invited to join this ongoing study group that meets prior to services. Discussion is lively and the ideas fly fast and furious!
