Community-Wide Services

Daily Minyan

Weekday mornings at 7:00 a.m.
Sundays and National Holidays at 8:30 a.m.
Rosh Chodesh at 6:50 a.m.

Whether saying “Kaddish” or fulfilling your minyan obligation, or even just to pray, this is a most welcoming community. Daily minyan usually meets in Malkov Chapel, and on nice summer days arranges to pray outside in the Sukkah.  Often, Rabbi Siegel imparts a few words of Torah at the end of the service.

Tuesday minyan is followed immediately by Rabbi Abe Friedman's Hasidic Thought class, called Text on Tuesday.

For information about Daily Minyan, please contact Debby Lewis at 773-868-5113.  To make arrangements for a yahrzeit memorial breakfast, please contact
Raquel Johnson at 773-868-5119.

Mishkan: 4th Fridays

Fourth Friday of the month at 6:30 p.m.
When there are 5 Fridays, Mishkan takes place on the 5th Friday.

Join us for inspired and deep davening on the 4th Friday of each month!

Creating the intensity, harmony and spirit of a shtibl in Jerusalem, and warmth and intimacy of a living room, Mishkan is building community around Judaism as a vehicle to bring more light, goodness, justice and joy into the world. After two services that had participants literally bursting out of the seams of living rooms, we're excited to be joining AES the 4th Friday night of every month. Hang out after the service for light dinner fare and wine; there will be kids' programming with David Russo running parallel.

Kesher: Making connections with God and each other

Second Friday of the month beginning with a light “pro-neg” (think light refreshments and schmoozing).

From Memorial Day to Labor Day, pro-neg begins at 6:30 p.m., with service at 7:00 p.m.
After Labor Day, pro-neg begins at 5:30 p.m., with service at 6:00 p.m.

This highly-participatory service welcomes Shabbat with a lot of community singing.  Sitting in the round helps foster a sense of intimacy in the davenning.   Children are welcome and usually have an opportunity hear a story or do some singing in a separate space while the adults engage in text study.

For more information about Kesher, please contact Rabbi Abe Friedman at 773-868-5145 or Debby Lewis at 773-868-5113.
