Rabbi  Siegel celebrates 30 years at Anshe Emet!

In honor of Rabbi Siegel's 30th anniversary at Anshe Emet, we are collecting pictures of his history here.  If you have photographs of Rabbi Siegel at a simcha or other happy occasion, please email them to Naomi Richman and include the date(s), the name of the event(s), a list of people in the photograph, and your own name.  Digital photos are best, but we will be delighted to accept any submissions; preferably not originals, so we don't risk losing them.  However, we will do our best to return all originals you entrust to us.

Got a wicked prize?  Donate it to the Purim Carnival!

Purim is coming!  On March 4, 2012, the Anshe Emet Synagogue Youth Department (SHMUSY) will host its annual Purim Carnival.  The carnival provides an opportunity for our community to come together and for an afternoon of games, food, music and fun.  Our USY Board and the Youth Community at large have worked very hard to plan our biggest event of the year. Throughout the carnival, we conduct a silent and live auction to raise money for our Youth Department and for charity.

With this carnival, we hope to fulfill two of the main mitzvot connected with the holiday: one of seudah, feasting and celebrating, and another one of tzedakah, of giving money to charity.  While we know you are approached by many different organizations throughout the year, the auction conducted at the Purim Carnival raises the funds that our own students allocate towards various charities throughout the United States, Israel and the world.

We ask for your assistance in making this tzedakah happen by donating products and services that can be auctioned off during the Purim Carnival.  No gift is too small or too large, and all gifts are greatly appreciated.  In return for your generosity, your company will be exposed to the 1500 people who attend the Carnival and will be recognized in our Synagogue's monthly newsletter, which is distrubted to 1200 households in Chicagoland.

Please contact Thea Crook to make a donation.  We greatly appreciate your support!
